The story so far
Founded in 2020 by Matthew Spoke, Moves was created in response to the ongoing structural challenges faced by independent contractors earning income in the gig economy. Despite millions of Americans earning a living using gig apps, gig workers are often overlooked and their needs unaddressed. Since launching, Moves has provided tens of thousands of gig workers with day-to-day banking and cash advances designed exclusively for their needs. In 2022, Moves enabled gig workers to become shareholders in the gig companies they earn on simply by managing their money with Moves. By making gig workers shareholders, Moves believes the future of the gig economy can be owned by its workers.
